Over the last four years, our owners have helped us donate nearly $20 million to charity by purchasing or leasing a new Subaru during the "Share the Love" event. So we're again offering a great deal on any new Subaru, and with every new vehicle purchased or leased we'll donate $250 to your choice of five charities.*
Alzheimer 's Association
ASPCA
Make-A-Wish
Meals On Wheels Association of America
USOYou can click here to make your charity selection, call 1-800-SUBARU3, or fill out a self-addressed, prepaid envelope provided by your dealer. You will be asked to provide your name, contact information, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and charity selection. Subaru will then make the donation on your behalf.
What if I want to split the donation (i.e. select more than one charity) or vote more than once? Each customer who has purchased or leased a new Subaru (2012 or 2013) can either allocate the $250 donation to one charity, or split it amongst any number of the five charities. Only one donation (of $250) is made per vehicle sale or lease.
How long do I have to make the charity selection? While we encourage customers to make their charity selection at the dealership at the time of purchase, selections will be accepted through January 31, 2013.
I bought a car, but forgot to submit my charity selection. Where does the money go?For those who do not make their charity selection by January 31, 2013, Subaru will distribute the donation evenly among the five charities.
How will I know that the donation was made? You will receive a "thank you" letter from Subaru and the five charities once all of the submissions have been processed. Customers who do not make their charity selection by January 31, 2013 will receive a letter from Subaru thanking them for their purchase.
By what date will Subaru make the donations to each charity? How much money is expected to be donated?Subaru will make the donation to each charity by March 1, 2013. During last year's "Share the Love" event, Subaru donated $5 million, and Subaru is hoping to donate up to $5 million again this year. Over the past four years of the event, nearly $20 million have been donated.
Do I get a tax credit for this donation?Because the donation is being made by Subaru to each of the participating charities, donations are not tax-deductible to purchasers.
*Subaru will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased from November 21, 2012 through January 2, 2013 to one of five participating charities designated by the purchaser, up to $5,000,000 total. Purchasers must make their charity designations by January 31, 2013. See Subaru.com/share for details. A minimum donation of $250,000 will be made to each participating charity. All donations made by Subaru of America, Inc.
